SEAL Team PT truly has put me in the best shape of my life.
I grew up in Yorkshire, England and went to school at Portsmouth University. I was always active growing up; I played soccer, hockey and some cricket in high school and college. The highlight of my athletic career was playing in the championship game of the College Hockey Cup in my senior year. After I moved to the US, I continued playing soccer and started running road races, until ankle and knee surgeries slowed me down.
When I attended a "bring-a-friend day" workout at the end of 2009, I was pretty skeptical that I'd be able to join SEAL Team PT because I had not been able to run for four years. After I joined Class 7, however, my results were rapid and impressive. After a few consistent months, I was able to run without pain and was doing more sit ups, push ups and flutter kicks than some of the young bucks.
I love hearing about SEAL Team members reaching new goals, whether it's that first pull-up, getting a new running record, more flutter kicks before taking a break, or completing a very difficult interval never before attempted. As an instructor, my goal is to help our members reach more of their goals.
