Update 7 October 2010 -

Hi there!

Sorry I am just now sending you this email. But wanted to update you none the less. To date I am down 110 pounds and I attribute it all to STPT. The team is such a motivator for me and I never in my wildest dreams every believed that I would be able to do the things I am doing now. I CRAVE working out and it is just part of my life. It’s funny when people meet me for the first time and or they have heard my story and the other day someone said, “Oh you’re that girl that does STPT, wow! You’re amazing, you must be really fit!” Who would have thought that someone would have used the word “fit” and “Brooke” in the same sentence?!?! STPT inspires me every day to keep going and to reach newer and better goals that I have set for myself and my kids! Again, STPT has saved my life and we truly are a magnet for some wonderful people.

Hoo yah!
Brooke

Update 4 December 2009 -

Make sure you give Brooke Page, Instructors, and Members who inspire and motivate others to be their best a Hoo yah! SEAL Team PT continues to show the world..."There really is nothing like teamwork to bring out the best in people" Not bad for a 1 hour basic fitness class.

Dr. Oz on National TV set a goal for Brooke Page to lose 2 dress sizes in 90 days.
Brooke lost 6 Dress Sizes!

Three months ago Brooke Page weighed 300 pounds. Brooke told Dr. Oz she did not need a personal trainer because she has 200 every day at SEAL Team PT. Along the way Brooke made a lot of friends, ran 1.5 hours at SEAL Team PT's Saturday Run Option twice, and completed a 8k race under an hour and never walked. She also lost about 50 pounds. Brooks is happy and Dr. Oz appeared shocked and happy yesterday in New York because Brooke is much healthier. SEAL Team PT did modify Brooke's diet and motivate her to do more push ups and more, but Brooke did the hard part. In her words, Brooke flipped a switch in her head and decided to get serious. Sore from training hard, she embraced it and turned her soreness into a positive by saying this will change my life for the better. Brooke you are a winner and we are proud of you.

Several people have stopped by our store at Stony Point Mall to say maybe I need to get in shape first. Brooke is a great example of how you can start SEAL Team PT at any time. The real question is are you ready for a positive change? Don't let friends let excuses keep them from their goals. Please share Brooke's story so we can help others make a change and get in the best shape of their life.

Are you achieving your goals? Are you proud of your workout? Simply show up, go at your pace, and keep it fun. We will get you in the best shape of your life! Our next 2 week Basic Fitness Class begins Monday 7 December. The show will air some time before Christmas on TV6.

Take care, please tell a friend, and we will see you at the next workout.

Message From Brooke:

I don't think I could ever express how Instructor McGuire and each and every SEAL Team PT Member have changed my life and continue to do so on a daily basis. When I started my DR. Oz journey I was a sad, lost, insecure, and over weight individual who had lost all fight within me.

I knew I needed to do something but more importantly I realized that I had to do it for myself and I was important enough to take time for me.

It was hard for me in the beginning and I struggled everyday, but I knew that I didn't have the option to roll back over in the morning. Each and every one of you were there to cheer me on every morning and telling me I could do one more push- up or run to the next lamp post.

Instructor McGuire, Tracy, and SEAL Team PT Members have breathed life into me again and have given me confidence and the ability to be a winner. I have done things I didn't even dream of doing or didn't even know I had in me to do, with that I don't know how I will ever repay any of you.

I am in the BEST shape of my life and look forward to reaching the rest of my goals with my SEAL Team PT family.

Hoo Yah!!!!!!!

Love,
Brooke

SEAL Team PT Fitness Member Brooke Page was chosen for a Dr. Oz Show weight loss challenge. When asked if she needed a personal trainer, Brooke said I have 200 trainers at SEAL Team PT every morning. This story is about Brooke Page and her quest to lose weight, improve her health, and live a better life with her family.

On Sept 14 2009 the Dr Oz Show producer Nicole and her camera crew and Lorenzo with Local TV 6 joined SEAL Team PT at our 9:30am workout at Byrd Park to capture Brooke's story. Sept 21 we received a call to be in New York the next day to support Brooke. So SEAL Team PT rented a 56 Passenger Bus from Groome Transportation and a bunch of Members and I left Richmond for New York that night at midnight. TV 6 showed up again to video our departure. My favorite part of the trip was getting to know each of you a little better. On the ride I was happy to hear one woman say so far I have lost 80 pounds and another said she lost 70 and feels great. Another woman went from zero to 16 pull ups! if you can master your mind and body, you can do anything. There really is nothing like teamwork to bring out the best in people.

While in New York we joined the crowd outside the Today show and within minutes received phone calls from friends and family in Richmond saying they saw us on TV. We then went to 30 Rock for the Dr. Oz Show. I was proud to see Brooke Page get on stage and tell her story. Dr Oz has a great talent for simplifying and explaining health and wellness concepts to every day people. You will enjoy his show and learn a lot along the way.

After taping the show our team walked around and explored New York City for a few hours. At 4pm it was time to go. We were happy when Brooke decided not to use her airline ticket home and joined her team on the bus instead.

So far Brooke has lost 18 pounds and every day i get a cool story about her progress. Of course she is sore from the workouts, but you know i told her, at my house when someone says they are sore we say quit bragging. Being sore is a good thing because it means she is working hard to achieve her goals. I found out her boss, others at work, and friends also do SEAL Team PT so Brooke cannot go anywhere without someone encouraging her to hang in there. I would like to see this level of motivation and encouragement for all Members. After all we are not alone on this planet and we are not alone at SEAL Team PT. If we work together we can do anything.

I received news yesterday the episode with Brooke will air Monday 12 October at 4PM EST! Make sure you help us give Brooke and others the motivation and encouragement necessary to achieve their goals. We all know an encouraging Hoo yah goes a long way. You will do more with a team than you will on your own. It looks like Dr. Oz's team will return to Richmond in a few weeks. Stay tuned for more details and updates on Brooke's progress.

In this picture below Brooke and her buddy Andrea Randle are doing Incline sit ups at the University of Richmond 5:45am. Hoo yah Team!
